National Festival
fundraising concert

SUPPORT your PEI NATIONAL FESTIVAL COMPETITORS!
what?
A chance to see the best of the PEI Provincial Festival’s young musicians perform their National Festival recitals.
13 of our Provincial Festival finalists were recommended by our adjudicators to progress up to National Festival level this year. 9 of them will be performing and recording their recitals today.
It promises to be an afternoon of great music from our top level provincial festival musicians, who range in ages from 12 to 25, performing musical theatre, piano, clarinet, tuba, and trombone (Scroll down to meet our performers!)
why?
To record their recitals for the National Festival, to raise money to help them with their fees, and to show them how much PEI is behind them as they go forward to the final stages of this National competition.
These talented young musicians have been working hard all year to get to this point, performing first at their local festivals (represented here today are Queens County and East Prince Music Festivals), then at the Provincial festival.
We would love for them to perform their programs to a live and appreciative audience!
how much?
Entry is by donation (cash only). All donations will go towards paying the entry fees for this year’s PEI competitors.
Donations of $10 or more will be provided with a tax receipt.
What time?
Performances will take place all afternoon, according to this schedule.
Please feel free to attend as many or as few sessions as you like.
* Please note that because these are being recorded, audience members will not be able to enter of exit the auditorium during a recital. There will be no pauses in recording between pieces.
Where?
UPEI Performing Arts Centre. Building 21 on this map.
Please use the University entrance opposite the Farmer’s Market, on Belvedere, and then keep left, heading into “GENERAL PARKING A” and look for festival signs.
what is the national festival?
This year’s National Festival will be held virtually between 26 July and 6 August, 2023.
